I work for a global ad agency/ well a digital ad agency essentially and I love it. I am allowed all kinds of awesome opportunities to travel and conceptualize and execute, for all these awesome clients that I have always dreamed of working on. Anyways, this time around I was sent to New York, NY to help with some work on some things. The company I work for is housed in the Hearst Tower, which is right next to Central Park and all kinds of amazing things in midtown New York. When I wasn’t comping things up till 1am I was allowed to have my own time and explore.

When you tell someone like me that I can just go explore then you better believe that I will do nothing short of that. SO these pictures that I posted above are all from my exploration of the city. This was one of my favorites times visiting New York, and I look forward to visiting it again more and more and more. I will have to send out a special thanks to my friend Graeme Fouste for giving me a place to stay the first night and taking me around with him to all the social events he was attending. Good times and a good person! So thanks Graeme!

After my trip on my motorcycle across a big chuck of the country I was really quite relieved when I saw the city skyline in the distance while approaching on my motorcycle. With that said it seems from the moment I got back I have been non-stop doing and seeing things and it has all helped create a new found love for Chicago once again. This city is pretty awesome and has so many things to do and I have been playing the tourist role again for about a week and it has been really nice.

I feel it is always a good thing to remind yourself of where you live and find all the beauty in its location. Having my motorcycle in the city has presented a whole new set of challenges but also a whole new perspective of the city. Being able to travel where I want  at a much quicker rate has changed my life here. It has been nothing but pleasant.

Anyways with all these things I have taken some pretty cool pictures of the city and saw some new views of the skyline that took my breathe away. Looks like I will be in Chicago for another year and then at that point we will see what presents itself and where I will end up next. in the mean time enjoy the photos and videos I attached to the post.

All in all I had a great adventure and miss it already! Being back at work isn't bad by any means but I sure do miss the open road! Must start planning for my next adventure! In the mean time here are some photos that I would like to share!

So after all three days of riding my motorcycle from Columbia, SC to Chicago,IL I finally arrived last night at around 7pm way earlier than expected, showered ate and passed out! So today was beautiful and that doesn't happen that often and the Chicago Pride festival was happening so we decide to ride our bikes down to hang and see the parade! What a way to be put back in the city. Chicago has so many things going on at once. Anyways was pretty cool and crazy so here is a video of a piece of it. Please excuse the curse word, it was pretty crazy all around and a bit overwhelming hahaha!

So driving through Indiana and let me tell you, there is absolutely nothing at times! For very very long stretches! It's actually kinda nice in some way. Anyways here is a video I took when I got to some crossroads with nothing in all directions!

So today was really awesome! What a great trip. Very different from day one, but so awesome in it's own way. Wasn't much of a fan of Knoxville, TN but Kentucky especilly Lexington, KY had some beautiful land. Almost instantly, as soon as you cross into the state your in a huge canyon river type area! And as you progress the stereo typical Kansas images from T.V. and movies comes to life. It's really an awesome site. Cincinnati is a pretty cool city as well so all in all pretty epic ride, here are some photos! Enjoy!

I reached the highest point on the Blue Ridge Parkway and it was kinda crazy! Fog and oddly colder than I expected. Thankfully my father always plans ahead for everything and is the voice of reason and gaveme some gloves and a jacket in preperation. My advice is even in the heat of summer it seems like it may be colder than you expect up that high in elavtaion. I was at about 6,500 ft.

Amazing!, The Parkway trully is a beauitful place to ride your motorcycle. If traveling the Parkway be sure to plan some extra time for your trip because once your on it there is no getting off. Also with all the curves and turns and etc, it takes about twice as long to get to your end destination. Regardless it is a must see and do.

One of the biggest disadvantages of ridging a motorcyyle is the there is little to no protection from the rain, so in this video I basiacly had to pull over because I was getting pounded by the rain once I hit Greenville/Ashville areas. As a rider you will see the true badass dudes who still drive through it but I guess I am just to paranoid and not man enough to risk it haha. Waited for about an hour and a half to continue on.

Soooooooo in the words of my father. "Well world, tomorrow I start my motorcycle trip" from Lexington, SC to Chicago, IL. I will be taking 3 full days to make this adventure worth while and will be posting it all as I progress on this posterous account! Be sure to check back daily for updates and beautiful scenery!

Tomorrow I will be venturing outside of the state of SC and making my way up to the Blue Ridge Parkway. I will jump on that on and ride through The Great Smoky Mountains and Hopefully into Knoxville, TN. Then I will be resting for the evening and back at it the next day and on my way to Cincinnati.

I am super excited to get this started and it is something I have always wanted to do. Not going to lie I am a little nervous about the trip. Only depending on my and my moto is kinda crazy, but I think it will all be ok and hopefully a moving experience in all! I'll be posting more pictures of my trip as I go and would love to hear any feedback as I progress towards my end goal, Chicago.

So brian has a wonderful surrounding of family members in his life. So wonderful that from time to time they send these nice gift boxes for him and since I am the roommate I inadvertently get some of the gifts inside that it carries :) ("presents by default"-Brian Thiel) This is wonderful and I say continue with all the love. One of the last boxes that his wonderful family sent over contained a little snowman that you can put into the bathroom. It is a motion sensored device that you place near the toilet so that every time you go to the bathroom he is there and happy to talk to you. Now I know what most of you are thinking... "how weird" and "how annoying".

I thought it would eventually get that way as well. But you see the other night I got up kinda late to .... do ... my business, and as I approached the bathroom I got inside the door and the little dude says "Who's got to go? you got to go, don't mind me I am here to keep you company" I then responded with a quick "why , thank you bathroom snowman!" Then I did my deed with a smile across my face.

Now... why am I telling you about this? This little snowman has single handily brought me into the Christmas spirit, and I am thankful for that. Through all the stress and deadlines I have put on me everyday this little snowman doesn't care and wants to just sing christmas tunes to me while I .... ummm for lack of better words, sing christmas tunes to the toilet. haha

SO I want to take this moment to wish everyone a happy holiday and I hope it is amazing and rules life for every single one of you!

So I have been running all around Chicago lately checking out awesome statues all over the city. In the process I have done some Urban Exploration along the way. The other day I was walking downtown and came across a Catholic Church that was enormous. Somehow I had not seen this church until now in all the times I have walked down this street. Anyways I was overwhelmed at how amazing the architecture. was and the history that lay behind this building. I decided to walk in and take a look.

I was a little nervous but figured screw it, I mean it's a Catholic Church.. come on....what are they going to do to me? haha anyways I go in and there are people in here praying and touching the walls and some woman in the front laying on the ground, it was kinda bizzare, but I decided to poke around a bit. I found a door that looked awesome and it ended up leading to the 4 floor balcony of this church.... and that is where this picture was taken. There is something so amazing about the design and age of this building. The picture came out pretty awesome, so I headed back down and out and went on with my day. 

This is just one of the many many photos I have taken during the past few days here. I have been going to areas of Chicago that I had no idea exsisitet, areas that have a ton of awesome stuff just everywhere, just when you think you have the city mapped out you realize your totally wrong. I would love to hear what you think of the building as well. Enjoy

OH!, and one last thing I felt this picture is a nice fit considering Halloween is 11 days away, kinda creepy looking!
