This is part 1 of my adventures in New York and Boston, I will be posting these by part becase each section gets kinda lengthy in detail. Look for each part as they come out!

So I just got back from the great city of New York, and let me just start out by saying NEW YORK is an amazing feat for our society as a whole. All I could think the whole time is that everything that surrounds you is man made and constructed over time by humans. It is kind of amazing when you really think about the complexity of a city like New York. The amount of people that have probably had a hand in building that city to what it is today, a complex place with layers of streets and tunnels and all kind of surprises around every corner. Sooo many people in this city also. New York to me is a place that you pass through in your life at least once or twice. It seems like a city that has people come in for a year or two and then leave only to be replaced by the next generation of young people coming to the city to explore and live out that adventurous time in their lives. Of course there are exceptions to this, but that is what it really comes down to for most people living there.

I woke at 7am and traveled to the airport on Tuesday. It was bright and sunny here in Chicago when I was leaving. I flew JetBlue to New York. The next time you fly you really need to try to fly JetBlue. That was by far the best travel and flight I have ever had. TVs in the headrest, free snacks and lots more legroom than most flights that I have been on. A great company with great design behind it as well. So that is always a plus.

When I landed it was rainy and cold in New York but I didn’t care. It was ironic that one of the few days in Chicago where it was amazing outside I left to fly into cold and rain. Oh well … worth it. I got off the plane and travel directly to the MoMA in Manhattan to see all the wonderful works of art from our history. The MoMA is a must see place. So next time your in New York stop by and take a look at all the amazing things they have in there. I made my way to the top of the MoMA and came to an exhibit by an artist by the name of: Marina Abramović. Seriously crazy stuff in this, if you have never heard of her look it up, or just click her name. I linked it to some info about her. The exhibit had nude woman just starring at each other and people with their hair tied together and not moving and all kinds of anti war art with cow bones and blood and stuff. She also experimented in art involving noise, basically people screaming at each other to cause straight up human emotion. The weirdest part was walking into a big room where it was a nude woman standing up, elevated by a bicycle seat just sitting/standing there with her arms out in front of her. You immediately go through a look away type of reaction. Maybe that is what she is trying to provoke, regardless it was powerful and not just because there was a some young nude chick on a bicycle, I mean don’t get me wrong … she was attractive so not complaining but seriously what the hell. Regardless I respect the hell out of it because she really pushed the boundaries of art and peoples reactions.

After that ordeal I meet up with my friend Graeme Fouste and hung with him and went and got some Crif Dogs, and then went to the oldest Irish pup in New York called McShorley’s. This place was ancient. I am surprised it was still standing honestly, but an awesome experience. All the people working here were authentic Irish people and it gave it a very interest vibe and experience. You could only buy two beers at a time that was the rule. Also you only had a choice between dark and light. When you got your beer they would come over and slam it down on the table. Drank there and then went had some Chinese food and went back to Graeme and his wonderful girlfriend Shawna’s place to sleep. I am forever in debt to them now. They let me crash each night at their place and I can’t thank them enough for it. Thanks guys you rule and have the cutest dog ever! A teacup Yorkie name Bella. Bella you are the only woman in my life if you are reading this.

... To be contunined in Part 2.

p.s. sorry some of the pictures are subpar in this post, I was not suppose to take pictures in the MoMA so I had to take quick off centered blurry ones, haha oh well.
